What is Red Maple Reading Club all about?
Red Maple Reading Club is a part of Ontario Library Association's Forest of Reading Program. Each year 10 fiction and 10 non-fiction books written by Canadian authors are nominated in each age group. Students are invited to read and discuss the nominated books during our weekly Red Maple Reading Club meetings. The books are available for checkout mid-November and the club meetings commence in February. The discussion schedule is posted on this website as soon as the nominated books are announced.
Students who read 5 books are eligible to vote for their favourite author. Students who read all 10 books in the same category are eligible for the Sacred Heart High School Academic Award.
